Fox 2025-2026 Fall Schedule: ‘American Dad’ to Debut Midseason, Jane Lynch’s ‘Weakest Link’ and ‘Fear Factor’ Reboot Lead Unscripted Slate (2025)

Fox revealed its 2025-2026 schedule Monday ahead of its upfront presentation to advertisers at the Manhattan Center in New York. Among the biggest highlights of the slate were the return of Fox-turned-TBS-now-Fox-again animated series “American Dad!,” as well as Jane Lynch’s “Weakest Link” (moving over from NBC) and a reboot of “Fear Factor.”

Overall, Fox is adding six new series to its lineup over the next broadcast season, including one-hour comedy “Best Medicine,” dramatic thriller “Memory of a Killer,” multi-part scripted event “The Faithful,” and competition series “99 to Beat,” Lynch’s “Celebrity Weakest Link” and “Fear Factor: The Next Chapter” (working title). Fox will also air a new holiday special edition of Gordon Ramsay’s “Next Level Chef,” titled “Next Level Baker.”

“Celebrity Weakest Link” and “99 to Beat” will debut on the fall slate, while the other above-mentioned series will premiere in 2026, along with the return of “American Dad!” and new episodes of “Family Guy.” As previously reported, smash-hit competition “The Masked Singer” will also be held until midseason.

As of the time of setting its 2025-2026 schedule, Fox has yet to make renewal decisions regarding the following existing series: “Cleaning Lady,” “Accused,” “Alert: Missing Persons Unit” and “Crime Scene Kitchen.”

“American Dad!” centers on super patriotic CIA agent Stan Smith (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) and the misadventures of his unconventional family in Langley Falls, VA. The show original ran on Fox from 2005-2014 before moving to TBS, which it aired new episodes through its most recent finale this March.

The animated comedy from 20th Television Animation was created by MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman, and is executive-produced by co-showrunner Brian Boyle, along with MacFarlane and Weitzman.

Hosted by Ken Jeong and Erin Andrews, “99 to Beat” sees “100 contestants go head-to-head in a range of visually distinctive and hilarious games in an arced competition game show like we’ve never seen before,” according to Fox’s description for the series. “’99 to Beat’ is the game show that anyone can win, and there’s only one thing players must do for a chance of walking away with the cash prize – Don’t. Come. In. Last. As contestants battle it out against each other, each round will see the number of players whittled down until one person is left standing and they take home the top prize of $100,000.”

“99 to Beat” is produced by Initial, with Natalka Znak, Claire O’Donohoe, Katy Manley and Lee Smithurst executive producing. The series is based on a format originated by VRT and De Chinezen, and is distributed by Primitives.

The Jane Lynch-hosted “Weakest Link” will be moving to Fox for its next season. Based on the U.K. series of the same name, the U.S. version of “Weakest Link” originally aired on NBC from 2001-2002, followed by a brief syndication run. The rapid-fire quiz show was revived at NBC in 2020 with Lynch as host and aired three seasons. The new Fox version of the show will debut this fall, boast an all-celebrity lineup of competitors and be aptly titled “Celebrity Weakest Link.”

“Celebrity Weakest Link” is executive-produced by Ryan O’Dowd and Krystal Whitney for BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions. Stuart Krasnow serves as the showrunner.

Fox’s reboot of “Fear Factor,” currently titled “Fear Factor: The Next Chapter,” is described as “bigger, bolder and more daring” than the original series. Per Fox, “Dropped into an unforgiving, remote location, a group of strangers will live together under one roof, and face mind-blowing stunts, harrowing challenges and a twisted game of social strategy where trust is fleeting — and fear is a weapon.” No host has been announced for the series, which is set to air on Fox next year.

“Fear Factor: The Next Chapter” is produced by Endemol Shine North America. Kevin Lee will serve as executive producer, along with Endemol Shine North America’s Sharon Levy, Michael Heyerman and Sean Loughlin. The show is based on the original format, “Fear Factor,” created by Endemol Shine Netherlands, which aired on NBC from 2001 to 2006 with Joe Rogan as host, and then again from 2011-2012. (A previous reboot ran on MTV from 2017 to 2018.)

“Building on our winning position in both key demos and co-viewing this season, Fox delivers a 2025-26 schedule that’s filled with irreverence, fun and much-needed laughter,” Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade said. “Next year more than ever, we’re bringing that promise to life with a terrific slate to delight our audiences across linear, Hulu and beyond.”
